Founder & Owner
Lisa started in the travel business in 1979 and has been the owner of Travel Partners in Dublin for over 30 years. On top of being the owner, she founded the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer and has helped raise over 25 million dollars for the Urban and Shelley Meyer Fund for Cancer Research at The Ohio State University and the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.
I remember going with my parents to their travel agent to plan our vacation. I watched in 9-year-old wonder as the agent made my Disney dreams come true. That was the exact moment I was bitten by the travel bug and now here I sit, almost 15 years into my career in the travel industry, helping others create those same dream trips.
Along with my extensive history as an agent, I have spent over a decade specializing in group travel and I've been a Group Tour Director for just as long! My group specialties include New York City, Broadway, and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail with extensive work in group girlfriend getaways, family vacations, honeymoons, and destination weddings!
I'm a firm believer that there is no set "perfect vacation" for everyone, we all have different interests and dreams. As much as some love taking in the awe and spectacle of a Broadway show, sometimes the time comes for a relaxing trip to an all-inclusive resort where the only thing I have to worry about it is which drink to have as you lay in your cabana on the beach. Each vacation option is perfect because they are what YOU want to do.
Where do I want to go? My bucket list trip is to Ireland, Scotland, and Great Britain to continue to research my family heritage and explore the castles and shores of those beautiful countries and absorb the cultures of the land where my family walked. I will always be down for a return trip to New York City (it’s my go-to quick getaway destination) and cruising is always a great time for me. How else can you visit two or three other countries and only unpack once?
When I was in high school, all I wanted to do was go to England. So, my 18-year mind thought, “What is the easiest way to get to England?” and my answer to that was “become a Travel Agent”, so that is exactly what I did. Since then, I have dedicated the last 38 years of my life, 20 of those spent with Travel Partners in Dublin, to providing the best experiences and services to my clients.
While many things have changed in this industry since I started, what hasn’t changed is my dedication to my clients. You can expect the same service and attention to detail from me for any travel need, whether that be a weekend jaunt to New York City, or a bespoke itinerary in Europe. When thinking about my favorite travel experiences, the list is endless and there are still so many experiences I am planning for the future.
The top of my personal list of memorable moments is having the chance to ride the Ffestiniog Steam Train through Snowdonia in Wales and seeing so many of my favorite British actors and comedians on the London stage. I also vividly remember the time that I struck up a conversation with a nice older man in Central Park and found out it was Sid Bernstein, the man who brought the Beatles to America!
I have always loved exploring. As a child, it was in the woods and creeks around town. As I grew up, my world continued to expand. I took my first cruise as a young adult and was completely enamored. I can go anywhere there is water and unpack once? Sign me up! Ships come in all shapes and sizes and I love every one of them. Some of my favorite experiences have been paying my respects at the beaches of Normandy, snorkeling a coral garden in French Polynesia, tracking rhinos by foot in Zimbabwe, and crab fishing in Alaska. I have traveled from Russia to Tahiti, Alaska to South Africa, on river cruises to full mast sailing vessels to the largest ship at sea.
I am now beginning my 20th year in the travel industry specializing in cruises and land tours. I have watched as the world has evolved and travel along with it. I enjoy helping my clients identify how they want to experience the world. For some it is relaxing on the deck of a ship. For others, it is seeing the sites. For others, it is adventure. The only right answer is what YOU want to do. The relationships I have with clients I’ve worked with for many years are a special joy to me.
Audrey Hepburn said, “Paris is always a good idea” and I couldn’t agree more. France is one of my favorite destinations, followed by the rest of Europe and The Mediterranean. My bucket list includes Egypt, the Galapagos Islands, and a return to Africa. I can’t wait to pack!
I love to travel and I love planning your travel. I specialize in European vacations, Italian language study abroad programs and cooking programs, ocean cruises and river cruises, honeymoons, weekend getaways, and family or group vacations; but, if you can dream it, I can plan it.
Are you one of the millions of Americans descended from Italian immigrants? My passion for traveling to Italy began when I planned a family trip to visit our relatives still living in Sicily. With only stories to start with, the internet helped me locate our relatives living near Palermo. With the help of a translator, we were able to contact them and, ultimately, spent an entire day together learning about and visiting where our family had come from in Isnello, Sicily. We also gathered several generations of family ancestry from the local government office. We came home with our hearts bursting and so many stories to tell. Now, as a travel agent, I help others connect with their families or ancestral cities in Italy. This is probably the most rewarding part of my work. If you have a passion to visit Italy, I'm here to help you make that dream a reality.
When you work with me, you will find that I'm very personable and will provide you with excellent service. I plan your vacation like I plan my own. Before you leave, you will have everything you need to feel confident with your schedule throughout your vacation. And, during your travels, you are not alone.
